Hannah is a freelance dance artist, working across Herts, Beds and Bucks, engaging people in the experience and sharing of dance, through her performing, teaching and bespoke workshop facilitating.
She trained at the University of Chichester and gained a BA (Hons) in Dance, studying modules that included contemporary and ballet technique, choreography, repertory, journalism and dance criticism. Hannah continued her study in MA Dance Performance at the University of Chichester. She toured nationally and internationally with mapdance, under the artistic direction of Yael Flexer and Detta Howe, performing works by Jonathan Burrows, Abi Mortimer (Lîla Dance), Ofra Idel (Machol Shalem Dance), Rick Nodine and Kerry Nicholls.
Performance work has continued for Hannah, being part of various site-specific projects including a commissioned work by Flexer and Sandiland for the PUSH/IDENTIFY MÓTUS Dance Festival; a part of the Walk of Witness with Expressions 1Vision; and a research-improvisation piece for Festive Road's Festival of Giants.
Hannah enjoys teaching contemporary dance, tap dance and ballet for people of all ages and abilities. Her approach to teaching offers an enjoyable, engaging and challenging environment, for participants to explore movement for themselves, as well as in a group.
Bespoke workshop facilitating develops from Hannah's teaching experience and desire to engage with as many different people through dance as possible. Hannah is a keen researcher of themes that will enable her to deliver dance workshops to capture the attention of you and your group, suiting your interests and needs specifically.
Recently Hannah was part of the 2017/18 cohort of Overture, a professional development opportunity with Matthew Bourne's New Adventures. Engaging in four intensive residential weekends at Farnham Maltings, Hannah was able to explore and redefine her practice as a community dance artist, ready to deliver more engaging dance sessions.
Alongside her work in dance, Hannah spent two years as a full time marketing assistant for Grove Theatre, Dunstable, developing knowledge and understanding in arts marketing; a role that included responsibility for digital marketing such as email advertisements and social media scheduling, as well as campaign creations.
Hannah is fully DBS checked and possesses her own Public Liability Insurance.
